Do I need tax preparation experience?
No. Refund Hero has a pathway designed for beginners. Your package should be selected based on your current experience and what you're ultimately trying to build.
Is the Tax School completely online?
Yes. The educational portion allows you to learn online at your own pace, with live support opportunities available to reinforce your training.
Are there live classes?
In addition to the online Tax School, we offer weekly LIVE Tax Pro Q&A sessions on Thursdays at 8:00 PM EST. Applicable partners also have Monday night onboarding at 8:00 PM EST.
What's the difference between PTIN and ERO?
PTIN is primarily for someone who wants to learn tax preparation and begin working as a tax professional.
ERO is for someone who wants to take the next step toward operating their own tax business.
What's the difference between an ERO, Reseller, and Service Bureau?
Think of it as progression:
ERO → Build your tax preparation business
Reseller → Add tax software sales
Service Bureau → Build and support a larger software organization
Will Refund Hero help me get my PTIN or EFIN?
Depending on your package, Refund Hero provides guidance through the PTIN and/or EFIN application process. PTINs and EFINs are issued or approved through the appropriate IRS processes; Refund Hero cannot guarantee approval.
Do you provide professional tax software?
Professional tax software is available through applicable Refund Hero packages. The software access and features depend on the level you select.
Will you teach me how to get clients?
Business-building packages may include marketing assistance, social media guidance, client acquisition strategies, tools, and mentorship to help you develop your operation.
Do you offer tax advances?
Applicable partners may have access to bank-product options that can include taxpayer advance products, subject to the participating bank's program, eligibility requirements, approval, and availability.
Does completing Tax School guarantee me a position with Breadwinner Financials?
No. Completing training does not guarantee employment or an independent contractor opportunity.
However, qualified individuals who successfully complete applicable training and onboarding requirements may have the opportunity to be considered for a Mobile Tax Pro relationship with Breadwinner Financials.
